Today, his practice is devoted to retirement and estate planning with an emphasis on lifestyle maximization, asset protection, and wealth transfer strategies.
A dynamic speaker, Mr. Frederick co-hosted the popular New York television show, "The Law and Your Money" and has regularly presented public and private seminars educating individuals on investment, estate, and charitable tax planning. Currently, he teaches adult education courses (e.g., "Retirement Planning Today") at Dutchess Community College.
His passion, wisdom, perspective and guidance as a financial planner has resulted in a mature practice that includes clients throughout the U.S. and offices with state-of-the-art technology linking all PRIME offices and network locations in New York and Florida. In 2002, with over 20 years of industry experience to his resume, Mr. Frederick converted his practice from quantity to quality focusing on higher standards of service and accountability to his clients. This developed focus includes PRIME Life Planning service which encourages individuals to request a complimentary and comprehensive “second opinion” regarding their existing financial, tax, and legal strategies. Every “second opinion” includes analyses by independent professionals (e.g., a CFP®, EA, and Attorney) working as a team.
David W. Frederick began his financial planning career in early 1982 working for The Prudential. As he saw the need to become more independent, he opened his own practice in Dutchess and Westchester counties in 1986, and he eventually focused his attention exclusively on retirement and estate planning. Today, he leads this independent wealth management team under the name Prime Retirement Asset Management, Inc. as the firm's President, doing business as "Prime Wealth Management". He is a Registered Representative with NSC, and Investment Advisor Representative with NAM and is licensed throughout the US as a Certified Financial Planner™.
David W. Frederick completed his undergraduate studies in 1981 at Union College in Schenectady, NY, and then enrolled in the American College in Bryn Mawr, PA to eventually complete the Charted Life Underwriter (CLU) and Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) designations. Additionally, he was accepted into the College for Financial Planning® and successfully met with the rigorous experience and ethical requirements of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards. Thereafter, he completed the certification examinations to become a licensed Certified Financial Planner™ (CFP®). Mr. Frederick has multi-state life, health, annuity licenses and he also holds securities Series 6, 7, 24, & 63 licenses, as well. He is also a member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA), the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA),The Society of Financial Service Professionals (FSP), the Million Dollar Round Table (MDRT) as a Life Member, and the registry of CFP® licensed practitioners.
David W. Frederick and his wife, Rosanne, are natives of the Hudson Valley and currently live between LaGrangeville, New York and Sarasota, Florida. With his "Family First" philosophy, he enjoys their children, his "in-law" children, and his seven grandchildren. Mr. Frederick continues his community commitment as a volunteer and philanthropist with a special commitment to education, children's medical research, developmental disability services, and veterans.
